LIFE OF MANY COLORS
Kate Dunn’s beautiful images are multi-media in nature, and her technique demands raw talent as well as a multiplicity of advanced technical skills. She begins by using her trained eye to capture exciting original images using a state-of-the-art digital camera. Next, she transfers the image to her computer, where she uses a combination of software packages to artistically enhance the images. Finally, she produces an original print on the finest quality Strathmore acid-free cotton fiber paper, Arches Watercolor cold press stock or Satin Canvas with stretcher Bars and EcoShield spray. Occasionally, she will continue the process by hand-embellishing the piece with watercolors or pastels. Finally, the finished product is mounted using museum-quality, acid-free, bevel-cut mattes. The result is a stunning original piece of art, some of which are sold in numbered series and others of which are available as originals only.
While every aspect of the process is of the highest quality, Kate is able to produce exceptionally affordable art because the creative process is dramatically shortened through the use of computer software.
